Leadership in Motion: Executive Committee Sets the Pace for FY25-26

As FY 2025–26 begins, the Big Bend Continuum of Care’s Executive Committee is already laying down the strategic groundwork to accelerate our mission: ending homelessness across Florida’s Big Bend region. In their kick-off session, committee members agreed on three core priorities to guide every CoC effort this year.

Strategic Vision & Priorities

  1. Data-Driven Decision-Making
    – Strengthen monthly Data Quality audits and expand our public dashboards so that every funding allocation and program adjustment is based on clean, transparent information.

  2. Cross-Sector Collaboration
    – Deepen partnerships with local government, faith-based organizations, businesses, and community groups to streamline referrals, unlock new resources, and scale joint outreach efforts.

  3. Broad Community Access
    – Ensure our services reach every neighborhood and demographic in the Big Bend, with particular attention to the regions and populations currently underserved by existing programs.

Empowering Our Committees

Under Executive Committee guidance, each standing committee—from Coordinated Entry to Needs Assessment & Planning to HMIS/Data—has set clear annual goals aligned with these priorities. Quarterly “Leadership Roundtables” will bring together committee chairs, agency directors, and those with lived experience to troubleshoot obstacles, share early wins, and keep momentum high.

Building Capacity & Accountability

To sustain impact, the Executive Committee approved an increase in operating funds dedicated to staff training, tech upgrades, and expanded technical assistance. A new “CoC Scorecard” will track key performance measures—shelter vacancy rates, exit destinations, recidivism trends—and be shared at quarterly membership meetings for full transparency.

With this roadmap in hand and a dynamic leadership team at the helm, BBCoC is poised to drive innovative solutions, secure fresh grant opportunities, and move more people off the streets and into stable homes. When leadership is in motion, real change follows.
