HMIS & Data Committee

The HMIS & Data Committee drives the region’s data strategy, ensuring that every number we collect tells a deeper story about homelessness in our community. We set standards for data quality, analyze trends across programs, and help agencies turn raw information into real solutions. This committee doesn’t just track progress—we fuel it. Through smart data use and collaboration, we help guide decision-making and improve outcomes for the people and families we all serve.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

The Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) is a secure database used by service providers to collect, manage, and report data on homelessness.

This committee is open to agency representatives, data analysts, and community members who are passionate about improving data quality and using data to drive better outcomes.

Accurate data helps us understand the scope of homelessness, identify gaps in services, and meet federal reporting requirements—ultimately helping us direct resources where they’re needed most.

The committee reviews data trends, sets quality standards, supports provider training and compliance, and keeps everyone up to date on what’s happening in the world of HMIS and data across the CoC.
