People in our community will die without a home this year. While we must try to prevent
the loss of every life, we also want to recognize the reality of conditions that individuals
experiencing homelessness face. Communities across the country recognize December
21- the first day of Winter, the longest night of the year—to honor those who have died
while experiencing homelessness. Big Bend CoC, in collaboration with CESC, Inc., will
host a gathering to honor our friends, family members and neighbors who have passed
away in 2023 while experiencing homelessness & those who dedicated their lives to
advocating for them.
